Garford Farm Machinery Ltd, a Deeping based farm machinery manufacturer, has announced the launch of the Robo-pilot …. Integrating the Robocrop and Precision Guidance System for tractor guidance.
In Hall 1, Stand 108 Garford Farm Machinery will be showing their InRow Weeder demonstration, working at minimum plant spacing of 15 cm and delivering rotations around plants at 3 plants per second. Find out more and watch the interactive demonstration.
Unlike common tractor auto steers systems the Robo-pilot uses local positioning information to guide the tractor across the field allowing for higher accuracy of steering on the tractor and implement steering. The Robocrop camera views the crop ahead of the tractor and using a unique vision analysis program determines the exact centre of the crop row foliage to within millimetres. This enables a very high accuracy of crop row tracking and hence the tractor guidance.
Having this system linked into your farming enterprise allows for higher productivity and economical farming, therefore allowing the farmer to carry out hoeing in day and night situations reducing driver fatigue and stress, whilst continuing a high productivity rate. Allowing the tractor to be self-steered using Garford’s Robo-pilot Guidance it enables the full attention to be focused on the implement.
The system can also steer independently a rear Robocrop Precision Guided High Speed Hoe so providing total hands free tractor and implement guidance operation, all with an accuracy of 8 mm. The ‘quick touch’ console being linked into the Robo-pilot system, using the touch screen with instantly recognisable symbols and easy to work features, facilitates quicker and easier operator use.
The system can now work with up to 6 cameras and 6 precision guided sections per machine, therefore large machines such as the Robocrop Eliminator trailed range or triple bed InRow hoes can be operated with perfect accuracy over the full width, even when following severe soil contours.
For those farmers growing vegetables the ‘quick touch’ console also offers a custom colour feature which allows the grower to have higher accuracy across the field when the crop isn’t exactly a distinct colour in the colour spectrum.
