24m Dribble Bar to be Launched

Tramspread will launch a new 24m vertical folding dribble bar at LAMMA 2026. The pioneering company introduced the first British-made 24m umbilical dribble bar 15 years ago. It immediately proved popular, working in 24m tramlines applying slurry and digestate to growing crops without causing damage.

Further developments saw an 18/24m version added with the important capability to fold and work at 18m. An updated version of this highly regarded horizontal-folding model is still available and represents a very versatile and capable dribble bar.

Extensive practical experience and expertise has gone into designing the new vertical folding 24m dribble bar. Tramspread has been thoroughly field-testing a prototype with sister company Tramspread Contracting for the past 18 months during which time it has successfully covered many hundreds of hectares. Further testing is currently underway to assess its suitability for use with self-propelled tankers.

The completely new boom folds vertically making it suitable for use with any make and model of appropriately sized tractor. It is close-coupled, meaning it’s well-matched to tractors of around 150hp plus, just like the horizontal folding version.

There has been no compromise in design with heavy-duty and high-quality construction prioritised, making guy ropes unnecessary. The important ability to fold down to 18m, with shut-off taps, has been retained from the existing 18/24m model. Other premium features include breakback end sections, electrohydraulic controls using power beyond and left/right variable boom geometry.

Pipework from the front-mounted swinging arm through to the two macerators is 5” in diameter to accommodate high flow-rates and maximum output. There is the choice of two market-leading macerators, from Alrena or Vogelsang, both of which offer reliable and precise distribution.

In common with other Tramspread Suffolk range dribble bars, when folded the new 24m model allows full access to the tractor pickup hitch so that the applicator tractor can tow an engine driven pump unit between jobs. This important feature means that just one tractor is needed for running an umbilical spreading system when working with a front-mounted random wrap hose reeler, dribble bar and engine driven pump unit equipped with a suitable Tramspread remote control system.
