Electric Axle System Honoured with Engineers’ Choice Award

The DLG (German Agricultural Society) has revealed the winners of its 2025 “Systems & Components Trophy – Engineers’ Choice”, honoring innovations in agricultural machinery supply. The awards will be presented on November 9, 2025, at 5 p.m., at the Systems & Components Expert Stage in Hall 17, Booth H02, during Agritechnica 2025.

The award celebrates components or systems that make significant contributions to the design, efficiency, or functionality of agricultural and off-highway machinery. This year’s submissions were reviewed by a panel led by Prof. Till Meinel, DLG Vice President and Chair of the DLG Test Center for Technology and Farm Inputs at TH Köln.

The third winner is the eTD electric axle from ZF Friedrichshafen AG (Hall 15, Stand C06). Designed for electric tractors up to 100 kW, the modular, integrated system combines traction, PTO, and hydraulics in a compact unit. By rethinking the drivetrain architecture with two oil-cooled motors, the eTD eliminates redundant components, creating space for batteries or hydrogen tanks and enabling scalable, emission-free operation without loss of performance.
