First public demo of robotic farm machinery in Norfolk

    • Demonstration of robotic equipment and camera guided hoes on Tuesday 24 May 2022 close to NR21 7LJ at Hempton, near Fakenham, Norfolk

The Norfolk Farm Machinery Club, or NORMAC, have for many years been notable for organising practical demonstrations of farm machinery. The NORMAC Cultivations Demonstration, being a biennial event is eagerly awaited by machinery manufacturers, dealers and farmers alike, the last one, back in September at Downham Market being exceptional.

With the recent upsurge in interest in technology in weed control, relying less on chemical solutions, but going back “hoes with brains”, NORMAC have been asked by a number of farmers about staging a working demonstration of equipment now available.

By very kind permission from Raynham Farms Co, NORMAC have secured a field of maize, recently drilled, for manufactures to demonstrate robotic equipment and camera guided hoes, and all interested parties are welcome to attend what will be an interesting day.

The field will be open for visitors all day on Tuesday 24th May where a number of manufacturers and distributers will be actively hoeing the crop with their equipment. A small number of static stands will also show ancillary equipment connected to this new technology.

For the inner man, the usual refreshment kiosk etc. will be in attendance.

The site is close to NR21 7LJ at Hempton, near Fakenham, Norfolk, but once in the vicinity, follow the NORMAC signs to a central car park close to the field.

For further details and updates on those manufacturers attending please keep an eye on this website https://normac.org.uk/diary.htm
