App improves team job management with new update

    • Ag-drive, the app that helps agricultural contractors and farmers to manage their businesses more efficiently, has released a significant update to support teams of operators who work on the same job at the same time

The app replaces time-consuming paperwork with digital timesheets, field mapping, job recording for teams of any size, health and safety checks, and integrations with common accounting software for easy invoicing.

The new update allows multiple operators to record their work under one job. Setting up a job has also been simplified, with the team leader responsible for completing the job details and operators only required to sign into the job on the app to say they are present.

Multiple locations for a job can now be specified, with instructions for each location provided by Google maps via a pin drop or farm address. Jobs can also be scheduled without allocating an operator, giving flexibility to the team. Any operator can then start a job from a scheduled list when they are available.

Time recordings have also been improved. When jobs are part completed and resumed later, the time recordings are separated with individual dates and times, making it easier to bill longer-term jobs.

A significant benefit of the Ag-drive app is its integration with popular accounting platforms Quickbooks, Sage, and Xero. Now a further improvement means that completed jobs can be approved for invoicing on the go via the mobile app, as well as on the desktop version.

And finally, operators now have even more functionality at their fingertips with the ability to create and modify products, vehicles, and implements they’re using, as well as map fields directly in the app.

Will Dunn, contractor and founder of Ag-drive, says the upgrades to the app have been made in response to user feedback, which is integral to ensuring the app continues to help contractors and farmers improve their efficiency and improve their cashflow.

Will says, “The improvements to team jobs within Ag-drive will make a huge difference to our users who run large teams of operators, where efficient management is critical.

“With input costs rising rapidly across all areas of farming, keeping accurate records are essential, and the only way to do this is by going paperless. For contractors, the high cost of fuel means cashflows are strained more than ever.

“Ag-drive is improving the way industry works by making every job accountable and traceable. Regular invoicing is more efficient than doing it a handful of times a year, and integrating Ag-drive with accounting packages takes away a lot of the hassle associated with traditional paper-based timesheet systems.”

Digital timesheets are already the norm in many industries, and the farming sector is following suit. The Ag-drive app is available on both iPhone and Android smartphones and has been designed for simplicity to support all users. A desktop version is also available and is mainly used for invoicing and processing time/job sheet information.

Ag-drive offers a free 14 day trial, with no need to provide credit card information on sign-up. After the free trial period expires, users can continue using Ag-drive from £10 per month, depending on the size of their team.
