At its recent international press briefing, Kuhn took the opportunity to launch the all-new Karan trailed sprayer. With 99% new components, the unit is the result of a four-year development programme.

Available with 4500-8000 litre tanks and booms from 18-45m widths (model dependent), the units have 250-900l/min filling rates, and mixes can be applied from 200-500l/min at up to 25kph. The manufacturer claims a work rate of up to 100 ha/hr.

The sprayer has mechanical boom suspension system and the option of a hydro-pneumatic set up. With a 280 rear wheel steering angle and VF tyre options, the unit is CTIS ready (subject to a third-party system installation).

Kuhn offers the option to equip the Karan with the Autospray  system, based on PWM technology and available since 2019. This advanced system delivers spraying precision, with features such as independent nozzle control, compensation in curves, and the ability to maintain consistent droplet size across a wide speed range.

A new range of aluminium booms, named XEA3, feature nozzle spacings of 50 cm or 25 cm and offer enhanced drift control, thereby allowing the spray to reach its target with even greater precision.
