    Openfield launch new app

    • Openfield has launched a new app
    •  Accessible on a tablet or smartphone, it allows farmers to view three years of account details, including movement periods, contract prices and tonnage

In the loading schedule, users can also view planned collections including; variety, tonnage, timing and haulage contact details. “This ensures all the information a farmer needs is available for each and every collection, helping them to plan their time much more effectively,” explains Richard Kaye at Openfield.

Another feature is Track My Truck, which allows farmers to anticipate when a lorry, which is using Openfield’s tracking tool, is on its way to the farm. Growers can set email or text alerts, to let them know how far away their collection is. “This means that farmers can pinpoint where the driver is and ensure everything is ready to make the collection as quick and efficient as possible,” says Mr Kaye.

Farmers can also access London wheat futures prices and send chat messages to the Openfield team, who can respond to questions and provide information.
Another handy interactive tool is the seed selector, which enables farmers to choose the most appropriate seed varieties by answering quick questions. “The easy to use functionality reduces the stress of the seed selection process and helps farmers to identify varieties that meet their specific needs,” says Mr Kaye.

The Openfield app is available to download from App Store or Google Play by searching for Openfield Insight.
