    Sad death of Robert Reed

The eldest son of Richard and Rebecca Reed of LH Agro sadly passed away on 9th February following a battle with cancer.

Robert was born on 6th July 1995 and attended Godmanchester Community Primary School before going on to Hinchingbrooke School. He subsequently studied agriculture at the College of West Anglia’s Cambridge Campus.

From college Robert spent a summer harvest season with the Abbots Ripton Farming Company before joining his father Richard, mother Rebecca and the team at LH Agro where he worked as the family company’s service support specialist.

Away from work Robert was an avid motorsport fan whose main passion was F1 and in particular the careers of Charles Leclerc at Ferrari and Lando Norris at McLaren. During their teenage years Robert and his younger brother Rowan tried their own hand at racing, spending a couple of seasons enduring a love-hate relationship with the sport of competitive karting. More recently Robert bought his first house with his partner, Jess, and was a keen cyclist.

At the age of five Robert was diagnosed with a Wilms’ tumour which he successfully fought. In 2020 he was subsequently diagnosed with sarcoma. Robert was cared for during his final days by the staff at the Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice at Moggerhanger in Bedfordshire. His funeral will be held at Cambridge Crematorium on 4th March at 11:15 and will be live-streamed via a web link to enable his friends and peers to pay their respects.

Richard and Rebecca welcome memorial contributions to be made to the Teenage Cancer Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support.
