    • Plans are well underway for the 10th anniversary of The CropTec Show, the UK’s leading arable knowledge transfer event. It will once again be held at the East of England Showground, Peterborough, on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th November

By bringing experts together from across the food chain, CropTec aims to help farmers navigate today’s challenges after a year of shocking world events, including war, inflation and extreme weather.

Farming may never look the same as new subsidy programmes unroll, resources are strained, and weather systems become less predictable. However, this time of seismic change comes with opportunity to do things differently and see old problems in a new light.  Organisers say that CropTec will inspire and inform visitors with the latest technology, innovations and thinking to enable them to adapt their businesses.

Stand space in the event’s four halls has now 80% sold out with an exciting number of first-time exhibitors including RAGT, Trinity Ag, Rhiza, YC Agro, RH3S, Eurofins, Thomas Bell and PES technologies.

Water, natural capital and digital farming will all be under the spotlight at three new ‘Hubs’. AHDB will also be returning to update visitors on its latest findings via a series of bite-sized seminars at its Knowledge Hub. The new Training Zone will showcase the many and varied opportunities for professional development while the Ag-Tech Zone will focus on the latest technological innovations to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Jacob Dowling, Head of Marketing at Trinity Agtech says, “Carbon is on everyone’s mind – and many of those minds will be confused! We chose to sponsor the Natural Capital Knowledge Hub as a means of relieving some of that confusion.

“But the potential for farms to leverage natural capital goes way beyond net-zero and carbon trading. Improving water quality and biodiversity are critically important, both for the sustainability of our countryside and the financial sustainability of farm businesses.

“Our Knowledge Hub will explore the latest thinking on measuring farm carbon and natural capital – and ways to generate income from those initiatives, whether that be through natural capital trading or provenance-backed produce.”

Nichola Bell, Head of Events for Agriconnect, which organises The CropTec Show, said: “There is no doubt that the arable industry needs to adapt to survive and thrive and sharing knowledge and ideas is an important part of that.

“With our new focus on water, natural capital and digital this year we are making sure that CropTec delivers what farmers and growers need now to take their businesses forward. We look forward to bringing the industry together under one roof again at CropTec.”
