John Deere and Reichhardt partnership announced

John Deere has announced a strategic partnership with the German company Reichhardt GmbH Steuerungstechnik.

This agreement covers Reichhardt’s GREEN FIT product line, which allows John Deere Precision Ag technology to be used on multiple brands of agricultural machinery. These retrofit solutions will be available from the John Deere dealer network.

Based in Hungen, Reichhardt is a leading provider of automation solutions for tractors, self-propelled machines and implements used in agriculture. The company is dedicated to strong customer relationships and long-term success, and has been an allied supplier to John Deere since 2008.

Using John Deere’s industry leading distribution network, the partnership with Reichhardt will initially make AutoTrac guidance solutions available to farming customers. The partnership increases dealers’ ability to offer guidance technology on new machinery platforms where no retrofit solutions currently exist.

“John Deere is the leading provider of guidance systems today and has a strong desire to make this technology available to more farmers and contractors, even on machines of other makes,” says Denny Docherty, vice-president sales & marketing. “Reichhardt has more than 35 years of knowledge and experience in vehicle systems. We are excited about cooperating to expand our range of best-in-class solutions through connected machinery, Precision Ag technology and the dealer channel.”

John Deere dealers, if necessary together with Reichhardt, will install equipment systems and provide training and service to fully meet the expectations of farmer and contractor customers.

“Our goal has always been to offer farmers innovative solutions for all brands of machinery,” says Andreas Reichhardt, CEO of Reichhardt GmbH Steuerungstechnik. “With GREEN FIT we bring our experience both in product development and in the field. We have already been developing interesting projects with John Deere over the last 10 years, so now we are delighted to be working together to achieve even greater customer benefits.”

The partnership provides a new opportunity to equip more farm machinery with John Deere’s well-established and successful Precision Ag solutions. Customers will gain productivity improvements by automating their field operations, which will provide the foundation for future fully autonomous agricultural machines.
